It all started as a hobby when I was young and learnt knitting from my Grandma. It was a great honour for her to hand down her craft. Later on, I picked up crochet on my own. Then in 2001, I took up an old craft of lace making called tatting. It dates back to 17th century or ealier using cotton threads. It was so therapeutic and helped me to de-stress at a time I needed most as I was retrenched after ‘September 11’. Tatting is so colourful that it opens a whole new world to me. With creativity many things can be created. These include bookmarks, dollies, lace on towels, handkerchiefs, table cloths as well as small motifs on T-shirts, clothes, and the list goes on.

In August 2003, I did beaded jewelry by stringing technique, using wire or nylon. Earrings, necklaces, and bracelets are created with swarovski crystals, glass beads, porcelain beads, czech beads, pearls, etc. I enjoyed so much making them that I got hooked on.

It was at the end of 2006 that I learnt from a local designer another technique of beading, using needle and thread called bead weaving. Besides using swarovski crystals, czech beads, etc., seed beads and delica beads are used the most in these beaded jewelry designs.

Since then beading is my passion. I just love making jewelry and very much love inspiring people to bead. Happy Beading to all.
